Customer Service Messages / November 8, 2019: Discontinuing access to EnergyCAP via Remote Desktop
Discontinuing access via Remote Desktop. EnergyCAP, Inc (ECI) has been assessing the current security protocols to ensure we protect client data and the EnergyCAP application. In order to comply with upcoming federal data security requirements, ECI has decided to discontinue the ability to access EnergyCAP Enterprise Version 6 (installed client) via Remote Desktop as of December 31, 2019.
How to prepare. Starting January 1, 2020, access to the installed client will limited to your local installation of the application. In order to prepare for this change, please log in via Remote Desktop and copy any files that are needed to your local workspace. As of June 2019, ECI released an updated build (Build 127) of EnergyCAP Enterprise Version 6 that improved the performance of the locally installed software (i.e., without Remote Desktop).
