EnergyCAP Version 7.8 to be released July 1st—includes ENERGY STAR and bill entry template features

On July 1^st, EnergyCAP Version 7.8 will be released to your EnergyCAP database. This release includes several new features and sustainability updates:

• ENERGY STAR submission. Link your EnergyCAP database to an ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager account to begin submitting billing data and retrieving scores/metrics for your facilities. This update replaces functionality previously available in other EnergyCAP versions and includes significant enhancements based on customer feedback and input from the EPA ENERGY STAR team. NOTE: ENERGY STAR features will be disabled on July 1^st in EnergyCAP Version 3. You may submit data via EnergyCAP Version 3 until June 30^th.
• Updated greenhouse gas emission factors. The latest greenhouse gas emission factors from the EPA will be installed in your database. These factors were released by the EPA in March 2020.
• Replacement for bill entry templates. We’ve simplified the process for managing bill line items and formats with new features available in EnergyCAP Version 7.8. Users will have the option to update the format of bills during the bill entry process and can easily apply updates to multiple accounts/meters at the same time.
• Track a specific unit for each meter. When creating/updating meters, users will be asked to specify the meter’s reporting unit. This new option replaces the need to specify a bill entry template and ensures that all meter charts and calculations are correct—even if the billing unit changes over time.The feature also eliminates the need to check for mixed units of measure, since each bill is automatically converted to the meter’s reporting unit and any necessary unit conversion is automatically applied. Watch your email for a webinar invitation.
